Paulo José Lopes de Figueiredo (Portuguese pronunciation: [fiɡɐjˈɾedu]; born November 28, 1972), nicknamed Figueiredo (or Figu for short), is an Angolan football midfielder, who plays for C.R.D. Libolo in the Girabola.

Biography

Figueiredo was born in Malanje (Angola), but has lived in Portugal since he was three. He has dual Portuguese and Angolan citizenship.

Football career

In 2003, he was invited to play for Angola, and returned for the first time in almost 30 years to the country of his birth. He was called up to the 2006 World Cup where he had a key-role in the Angolan offense.

After the World Cup campaign, Figueiredo joined Östers IF.
